Tim Prunk
Vistrio
Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer of Vistrio, Prunk is responsible for the strategic management of Vistrio, balancing the needs of Vistrio’s customers, business partners and employees. Prunk’s focus is on attaining the growth objectives for the company by helping travel companies, who are members of the Vistrio Travel Alliance, improve their marketing capabilities by creating a combined data, analytics and technology solution. These solutions allow member organizations to identify customers and prospects based on potential value, and then build and implement strategies for innovative marketing programs based upon individual customer preferences and value.
Prior to helping form Vistrio, Prunk led Equitec’s Data Solutions business, which focused on creating marketing solutions using unique data driven approaches. Prior to joining Equitec, Prunk was the CEO and Founder of OPUS Interactive. A multi-channel marketing consortia database company, OPUS provided customer acquisition services for leading consumer marketers through its proprietary database.
Until the fall of 2001, Prunk was the President of MatchLogic, Inc. MatchLogic, a $90+ million subsidiary of Excite@Home, was the digital marketing services provider to General Motors, Proctor & Gamble, AT&T, TD Waterhouse, Excite and numerous other Fortune 1000 companies in the United States, Canada, Europe, UK and Japan. Prunk was responsible for MatchLogic’s business strategy, product development, organizational development, marketing, sales, finance and operations.
Prior to joining MatchLogic in March of 2000, Prunk was the Chief Operating Officer at ChoicePoint Direct, the fourth largest integrated database marketing company worldwide. Its parent company, ChoicePoint, was the publicly traded information supplier to the Personal Lines Insurance Industry. Prunk came to ChoicePoint in 1996, when it was Customer Development Corporation (CDC). Prunk was recruited by its CEO and Owner to install a professional management process and help take the company public or assist in a strategic sale. The sale to ChoicePoint was accomplished in the fourth quarter of 1998 and Prunk stayed on to help transition CDC from a private, single owner company to a subsidiary of a large public company.
Previously, he served as president and CEO for National Demographics and Lifestyles, the $50 million, multi-national database marketing firm. NDL’s lead product, The Lifestyle Selector continues today as the preeminent commercially available marketing database in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom. NDL was incorporated into The Polk Company in 1995 as part of Polk’s move to a one-company business model. At that time, Prunk led the formation of an organization blended from the consolidation of National Demographics and Lifestyles and three Polk Divisions consisting of 19 cross-functional account teams of 350 professionals in 9 cities and 4 time zones, structured around industry specific customer sets, supported by 150 production staff and over 50 research professionals.
In 1987, Prunk founded InfoBase, a joint venture between Young & Rubicam and ACXIOM. InfoBase is now widely considered the industry standard for providing precision targeted lists, data enhancement and quantitative research to facilitate strategic database marketing for the largest business and consumer marketing companies in the United States and UK. InfoBase successfully created a consortium of multiple data providers, aggregating billions of data into a single comprehensive database.
The Rocky Mountain Direct Marketing Association named Prunk “Direct Marketer of the Year” in 1996. The “Denver Advertising Federation” named him Advertising Professional of the Year in 1998. He is a past president of the Rocky Mountain DMA, and was a two-term trustee of the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation, followed by two terms as the Foundation’s Treasurer.
